It shouldn’t be surprising that Austin has snagged the top spot on yet another “best cities" list -- it has already been given kudos as the best place to live in America, the coolest U.S. city and the best city for job seekers, among other distinctions.

Austin topped realtor.com’s new list of most popular U.S. cities to live in right now, beating out Jacksonville, Florida, and Las Vegas.

The rankings were determined by three factors. First, the “migration ratio” of people moving to the metro area to people leaving the area based on U.S. Census Bureau data. Second, search traffic on realtor.com. And third, population growth estimates from 2015 to 2017 based on census data.
