“It’s me again, Hank the Cowdog.”

Those words have been introducing the popular children’s series “Hank the Cowdog,” written by Texas author John R. Erickson, for 35 years now, published through Maverick Books.

The series, told from the point of view of a mystery-investigating ranch dog, take place in the Texas Panhandle at the M-Cross Ranch.

Hank’s series of adventures (currently sitting at 69 books; a 70th one is due in September) has sold more than 9 million copies, and there’s even a trailer out there for a future film adaptation.
