Alamo Bowl: Whataburger and Stanford resolve a halftime barb over Twitter

Thursday night, the TCU Horned Frogs edged out the Stanford Cardinals to win the  2017 Alamo Bowl 39-37 in San Antonio last night.

The game was nuts, full of crazy plays, put returns and long passes, but the biggest thing many fans were talking about the next morning was that halftime band performance.

Stanford’s band is famous for using its halftime shows to troll other schools, and Thursday night’s performance was no exception. Check out the script for their halftime show:

Whoa, now. “True” facts about Texas?

“Texas ranks last in overall state pride”?

“Texas is really small”?

“Waterburger — a fast-food chain that apparently only serves water...”?

Texans were quick to defend their state on Twitter, and people who were at the game reported boos coming from the stadium, but Whataburger was quick with a comeback.

The Stanford Band responded:

Now if we can just get them to settle the “Whataburger vs. In-N-Out” feud...
