The fast food restaurant Whataburger on Monday announced all its dining rooms would be closed by 3 p.m. Tuesday, but its drive-thrus will remain open.

The measure is in an effort to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the burger chain said.

The dining rooms could close earlier than 3 p.m. Tuesday, Whataburger said. The company did not say when they might reopen.

The burger chain said its locations will also begin offering curbside delivery Thursday for online orders from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

"During the time our dining rooms are closed, we are proud to continue to staff our drive-thru — offering a full menu," the chain said in a statement.
