Khalid announced details Tuesday about a concert in El Paso that will benefit the victims of the deadly mass shooting that occurred at a Walmart in the city earlier this month. The singer graduated high school in El Paso and frequently references the city in his music. He originally announced plans for a concert on Twitter Aug. 5, shortly after the shooting.
Over the past few days, I’ve been thinking of ways to help out and support the city.
I’m planning for a benefit concert later this month, all of the proceeds will go to the families affected by the shooting. Sending everyone my love and will keep you guys updated
The benefit concert is called "A Night for Suncity" and will be held Sept. 1 at the Don Haskin's Center. Tickets are set to go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.
