You are perfect just the way you are. Let’s make some noise about it, yeah?

Americans celebrate LGBT Pride Month every June, commemorating the 1969 uprising at New York City’s Stonewall Inn, which kicked off the modern gay rights movement. Yes, you did the math right: This is the 50th anniversary of that historic occasion.

The annual Austin Pride event (including the parade that marches through downtown) is held later in the year; it's in August for 2019. But there are plenty of ways to fly your colors in June, too. Here’s where to celebrate Pride Month in Austin this year. Did we miss something? Email ewebb@statesman.com.

June 1: QueerBomb. Want a Pride parade with an inclusive, DIY spirit and without corporations in the mix? The 10th annual QueerBomb promises a 7 p.m. rally, an 8:30 p.m. march down Sixth Street, a 10 p.m. dance celebration and a 10:30 p.m. mini-ball. And which category will YOU be walking in, henny? Note: There will be glitter. (facebook.com/QBATX)

June 1: Beer for All. Circle Brewing will host a free party officially launching their rainbow beer cans. From 1 to 5 p.m., you’ll be able to snag your first six-pack of the new can, drink pints of the summer seasonal and enjoy live music and food truck grub while shopping from various local vendors. A limited Equality Texas glass will be available for purchase, too, with proceeds benefiting the organization. Plus, plenty of fanny packs will be on hand. The event will be kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
