Ditch your four-door SUV for two wheels next Friday, May 17 for Bike Austin's ninth annual Bike to Work Day.

If free tacos and coffee are what motivate you, Bike Austin has partnered with more than 40 local businesses to host "fueling stations" throughout the city with complimentary drinks and snacks for bikers from 7 to 9 a.m. Some stations will have modified hours and some will feature live music.

Featured fueling stations include Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garde, Paramount Theater, the YETI Flagship, Wheatsville Co-op, Houndstooth Coffee and more. In a new move for 2019, the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative has curated bike routes for people to ride in a group. Check out the full map of fueling stations and group bike trains here.

Participants are invited to a Bike After Work Party at Cheer Up Charlies from 5 to 8 p.m., where complimentary snacks and drinks will be provided. Door prizes for guests include a pair of three-day weekend passes to ACL Fest.

“Over the past decade, Bike to Work Day has become a city-wide celebration of active transportation. We’re excited about how many Austinites are choosing commuting options that positively impact the environment and promote a healthy lifestyle,” Bike Austin President Chris Riley said in a press release. “Last year, over 3,000 Austinites participated in Bike to Work Day. Our goal is not only to get more people safely on the road on May 17, but to raise awareness about active transportation options as an everyday reality for Austinites.”
