Every year, April Fool’s Day brings together the best and the worst of the internet.

And 2019 delivered. Hundreds of companies — including many from Austin  — announced their biggest and craziest promotions on social media. With so many pranks to choose from and laugh at, here's a roundup of some of the best Austin-based pranks and announcements. You may even wish some of these were real.

Alamo Drafthouse

With more and more people streaming videos on their phones through platforms like Netflix and Youtube, Alamo Drafthouse decided to hop on the bandwagon. The Austin-based cinema company announced Monday that their 38th location in Los Angeles will feature Vertical Vision™, so audiences can enjoy the movie-going experience without the “constraints and extraneous details of widescreen.”

Look up and watch the future with us.

University Co-op

The University Co-Op, which sells UT-Austin merchandise, couldn’t help itself from giving Longhorn fans a sneak peek of a new product coming soon to its stores. Toilet paper with the University of Oklahoma’s logo will be launching on October 12 — the same day as the Red River Rivalry football game. It’ll fit right in with the shirts commemorating the Longhorns’ 48-45 win against OU last year.

We can't keep it a secret anymore! We're too excited about this OU toilet paper launching 10/12/2019!

Deep Eddy

I’m told that people in Austin like Deep Eddy’s vodka. As the underage intern, I wouldn’t know anything about that. But, if you are one of those people who is a fan of vodka, and also maybe likes drinking it with tacos and hot sauce, there’s some good news for you. Deep Eddy will save you the trouble of ever having to choose how to combine those three delicious flavors with their Tapatio Hot Sauce-flavored vodka. No word on if a taco-flavored vodka is coming...

We know you like to wash down@tapatiohotsauce doused tacos with Deep Eddy Vodka. This is just more efficient.pic.twitter.com/GbZOblGQ0E

There definitely isn't enough scooter companies already in Austin. And the one thing that is really missing is the ability to take your food and drinks with you as you scoot through Austin. Austin-based YETI has solved this problem for us. The company announced their launch of “The Falcon,” a motorized scooter with room for your water bottle and cooler. But sadly, the price tag for the April 1st exclusive is a steep $4,120.19. Guess we’ll just have to stick with Bird and Lime for now.

Scooting is the future of transportation. So we decided to bring this phenomenon to the wild. Introducing the YETI Falcon. See the Falcon fly -https://t.co/PtWj9fjuam |#BuiltForTheWild⁣

A note from our not so wild lawyers: the Falcon isn’t real.⁣pic.twitter.com/pfeD3Ksohd

These cookies features “everything you love about Easter,” including jelly beans, marshmallow cereal and sour candies. And to top it all off, there is also a huge marshmallow Peep right in the middle of every cookie. However, if you try to order one, all you’ll see is an offer for a 15% off coupon (valid for the rest of the week) for one of Tiff’s other *real* cookie flavors.

Topo Chico and Good Pop

You’ve heard of sparkling water. You’ve heard of popsicles. What if...you had them together? That’s what Topo Chico and Good Pop are trying to do with their announcement of the mineral water GoodPop. Sure, neither Topo Chico and Good Pop are technically based in Austin. But, with Topo Chico basically being the unofficial drink of Austinites, this joke earned itself a place on this list.
