Nearly half the U.S. population is unmarried. And if you're looking to change that, well, some parts of the country are better than others.
According to a new Wallet Hub study, Atlanta is the best city for singles looking for a date, followed by Denver, San Francisco, Portland and Los Angeles. The study compared more than 180 cities across the country using various criteria, like the percentage of singles, most online dating opportunities, gender balance, nightlife options, the cost of eating and drinking, movie prices and more.
If you're looking to cast your net wide, the city with the highest percentage of singles is Detroit, and the city with the most online dating opportunities is Gilbert, Ariz. (Gilbert is also a good option if you'd like a cheap meal). Unsurprisingly, the cities with the most nightlife options are New York and Las Vegas, but if you'd like an affordable date, cities like Garden Grove, Calif., Indianapolis or Port St. Lucie, Fla. are your best bet.
