Talk about making the best of a bad situation. One Texas woman gave away items for her "dream wedding" after calling off her own wedding, wanting to pay it forward to another couple.
Kolbie Sanders of Tyler, Texas posted on Facebook just six days before her planned wedding date last month, writing, "With my engagement ending, I’ve come to find tremendous peace in knowing that I did the right thing for the both of us. With that being said, now I want to do the right thing by others and let some good come out of this decision."
Sanders, 24, went on to donate her $3,500 wedding on Oct. 20 at Belle Vue in Tyler to a couple wanting their dream wedding. Sanders wrote the venue was on board with the giveaway, as well as a free photographer, food, cookies, flowers, hair and makeup for the lucky couple.
Sanders asked couples to email her with their stories, and she randomly drew a winning couple from her favorite love stories. According to Inside Edition, the couple who won wanted to move up their wedding date so the bride's grandfather, who has Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, could be there. And Sanders attended the wedding.
"It was fate that I drew her name," Sanders told Inside Edition.
