Halloween can be scarily expensive. According to WalletHub, Americans are predicted to spend $9 billion on Halloween-related activities this year.
But you can put away your wallet (free up your hands for holding more candy), because three of the most affordable cities for celebrating Halloween are in Texas.
Irving, Laredo and Plano were No. 9, 15 and 20, respectively, on the list of the best cities to celebrate Halloween. WalletHub looked at each city's friendliness to trick-or-treaters, the amount of fun Halloween things to do and the average weather on Halloween.

But Laredo, Texas came in first overall for the highest number of potential trick-or-treaters, with Irving at No. 5. Plano had the third-lowest crime rate of the cities studied.
Austin didn't fare so well on the list. The study revealed Austin had among the highest average price for Halloween party tickets, and the city ranked 63rd overall. Houston and Dallas were No. 32 and 33, and San Antonio was No. 62.
