According to Camila Alves, she and Matthew McConaughey “don’t go out to eat that much.” But when they do...

Bon Appétit asked “80 of the most interesting people we know,” including Alves, who founded Women of Today and has been married to McConaughey since 2012, which restaurants they know they can count on. The magazine compiled a list of these “most-trusted haunts,” and it includes the Austin restaurant Alves and McConaughey “usually” frequent if they venture for a meal out: Picnik.

Alves told Bon Appétit the couple orders “guacamole with homemade chips; Brussels sprouts with pork belly, Parmesan, and maple syrup; and a few of the specials” when they make the 10-minute drive from their house to Picnik. The kids opt for the crispy chicken tenders.

“We like to experiment and get whatever sounds good that day. Sometimes that’s the fish tacos, other times beef stew—depends on the weather and our moods. Everything is locally sourced, made from scratch, and feels kind
of good for you without sacrificing taste,” Alves told the magazine.

Picnik’s menu is filled with “gluten-free, corn-free and soy-free” food options, but the restaurant is also known for its bottled butter coffee.
