June is LGBT Pride Month in the U.S., and although Austin Pride isn’t until August, there’s still plenty of ways to celebrate in the capital of Texas for the rest of the month. From music, to food and booze — Austin, you’ve got some options to feel proud and support the LGBT community.

Boiz of Austin open auditions - May 30 through June 11. This drag group of boiz is looking for its new member. If you have a passion for drag and want a chance at being a part of the group, submit your audition tape to TheBoizofAustin@gmail.com. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply by the June 11 deadline. To see if you’re eligible to apply, visit their Facebook event page.

Cheer Up Charlies - Head to this LGBT-friendly space for music, drinks and fun. The bar has different events scheduled all month long and they have local Kombucha on tap, according to their Facebook page.

Drag Queen Bingo: Pride Edition- June 18. It’s just like regular bingo, but with pride! All you have to do is show up to Red’s Porch Quarry location at 8 p.m. with your friends and a good appetite! Don’t forget to register by calling 512-236-5436. (Also, you might want to leave the kids at home for this.)

Proud! Austin LGBT Awards Gala- June 23. The Austin LGBT Chamber is hosting its annual business awards gala and you’re invited. The chamber is celebrating turning 21 and will honor the Austin LGBT Business Awards nominees along with raising money for the Austin LGBT Scholarship Foundation. Oilcan Harry’s - Located on 4th Street, they pride themselves in being "Austin’s friendliest gay bar and nightclub." With daily happy hour deals and events, you’ll be sure to have a good time here.

Pink Elephant Radio - every Friday. Tune into Pink Elephant Radio which features "loads of queer music and artists, and a few allies." You can listen to Japan and YellaStud by downloading the Royalties Radio app and tuning in Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m.

Rain - The music, the lights, the drinks! Rain on 4th Street has something different planned every day of the week. Get your voice ready for their karaoke nights every Monday and stretch before hitting the dance floor Fridays and Saturdays.

Austin LGBT Chamber June Happy Hour - June 21. Come out and network with the LGBT business community and Harrison Insurance Agency at this happy hour from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will also be a rainbow ribbon cutting to welcome the Harrison branch into the chamber.

8th Annual Stonewall Celebration - June 27. On the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, LGBT Austinites and Allies are getting together at the Capitol to pay tribute to those that sparked the modern day gay rights movement in June of 1969. Meet at the south steps of the Capitol building at 7 p.m.
