Report: Schlitterbahn water slide, on which boy died, to be torn down

A deadly 17-story water slide at one of Schlitterbahn’s parks is coming down.

Ten-year-old Caleb Schwartz died at Schlitterbahn’s Kansas City water park in 2016 while riding the Verrückt water slide, when his raft went into the air and hit a pole, according to WDAF. Now, the station reports that the slide is set to be taken down as soon as September.

According to the station, Schlitterbahn has not been allowed to tear the structure down, due the slide being part of an investigation into Schwartz’s death.
