This Austin coffee shop has a special ‘employee’: a goat named Butters

Meet Butters. If you’re ever out and about between West Lake Hills and Bee Cave, you might see him at Civil Goat Coffee Co., where he’s a regular. While you’re sipping your espresso, please take note: Butters is a goat, and he’s the shop’s mascot.

The pygmy goat is owned by shop founder Chris O’Brien, according to Eater Austin, who says Butters can be awesome sometimes and a “royal pain” at others. Regardless of his temperament, Butters is a part of the family, as O’Brien told the food blog that the goat pretty much raised like a dog.

Did we mention that Butters has an active social media presence? Because he’s basically the Kim Kardashian of Central Texas coffee mascots. Here are a few of his most lovable Instagram moments.

Ladies watch out. Valentine's may have passed but Butters is out looking for love. #goatsofinstagram #pygmygoat #goat #austin #goatlove
