Perry gets a sweet treat at Sandy’s after booking

Governor Rick Perry decided it was time for a treat after his closely watched trip to the Travis County criminal justice center this afternoon.

So, where did he go?

None other than the Austin landmark Sandy’s, a favorite stop for hamburgers and frozen custard on Barton Springs Road.

Perry’s campaign tweeted this photo on his account just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

He posed with a Sandy’s employee while holding an ice cream cone. No word on if he paid for additional cones for his lawyer and a member of his security team, also seen holding custard in the image.
