The Ohio-based Kroger Foundation has decided to cancel a day of Future Of Food programming at this year’s South by Southwest.
Presented by Kroger Co.’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, the event was scheduled to take place on March 14 at the SXSW Center and feature panels, a tasting event and networking with 10 chefs, representatives from more than 30 organizations and 60 consumer-packaged good startups.
Organizers said they were committed to reconvening this event at another date or at SXSW 2021.
The company released the following statement:
"We understand and respect the decision of the SXSW event team and the City of Austin to hold the event. However, it is our position to postpone the Future of Food convening at this time. We need all voices at the table, and we feel we cannot accomplish that goal in the current climate."
