Bryce Gilmore is finally publishing his own cookbook, albeit an nontraditional one.
The owner of Odd Duck, Barley Swine and Sour Duck Market announced this week that he’s releasing "The Odd Duck Almanac" on December 9 through the Austin-based Cattywampus Press.
The debut book from the seven-time James Beard Award finalist is "a cross between a yearbook, a cookbook, and a magazine," according to Texas Monthly, and it’s part of a planned yearly series that will also include the voices of "cooks, bakers, bartenders, and its supplying farmers."
This first edition is called the "Mother Issue," and will be released at a 10th anniversary party at Barley Swine on Dec. 9. Gilmore says he plans on selling this as a subscription model, the details of which are still to come at oddduckalmanac.com.
