Cookbook author Aarón Sánchez has been on an epic book tour for his new memoir, "Where I Come From."
He already stopped in Austin for the Texas Book Festival last month, but he’s returning in December for something more akin to a party than a book talk, and he’s invited Austin musician Shakey Graves and La Condesa chef Rick Lopez to join him.
The Dec. 9 event, called 'A Sánchez Shake Up,' will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Empire Control Room & Garage, 606 E. Seventh St.
There will be food from Sánchez and Lopez, and the cookbook author will have a discussion on stage with Graves, who was one of the big names at the Utopia Music Festival over the weekend.
Graves will perform an acoustic set at the event, and Sánchez will do a meet-and-greet for VIP guests. General admission tickets cost $65, which includes a copy of the memoir, and there’s a merch package for $90. VIP tickets cost $135, and you can find them online.
