The team behind casual-cool Central Austin favorite Better Half is opening a burrito truck at 89 Rainey Street later this year, reports Eater Austin.
The “Bummer Burrito” truck will be parked outside of tiny bar and cafe Little Brother at the Millenium apartment building, which is also under the same management team.
According to Eater Austin, Better Half chef Rich Reimbolt is in charge of the menu, which will feature burritos with local meats and produce as well as other, to-be-announced late-night foods.
The fare should be a bit better than typical bar food, as Austin American-Statesman food critic Matthew Odam ranked Better Half No. 28 on his 2019 Best Restaurants in Austin list. The Better Half team also manages East Austin coffee shop and bar, the Wright Bros. Brew & Brew, and they have plans to open a brewpub, Hold Out Brewing, next to Better Half.
