With the mayor’s order today that all restaurants in Austin close their dining rooms, many are scrabmling to get creative and reshape their business and service model. Among them is Uchi.

Starting this Friday, diners will be able to place call-in orders at Uchi, selecting from a limited, value-driven menu of Uchi classics like the hama chili cold tasting ($17), fried chicken karaage ($10.50), oak grilled escolar ($16.50), more than a half-dozen nigiri pieces and six rolls, including pork belly with yolk custard ($10.50). Diners can also order wine, beer and sake for curbside pick-up. Every order purchased will also come with a $25 gift card for dine-in use when the restaurants reopen. The restaurant expects to add delivery via DoorDash by Friday, as well.
