University of Texas students have had to find a new place for Mexican martinis and queso since Trudy’s Texas Star closed late last year following a kitchen fire. No injuries were reported in the small fire from November, but the restaurant did close for repairs.

Restaurant management says the closure is only temporary, as Trudy’s operations manager Kris Peterson told the Statesman today that the team hopes to have the restaurant at 409 W. 30th St. reopened soon.

Trudy’s closed its Four Star location last year and still operates locations in North and South Austin. The Four Star property near Dripping Springs is still listed for sale at $6.7 million.
