Foreign & Domestic. One of the city’s best serves a five-course tasting menu that includes options like oysters and caviar, rabbit roulade and mushrooms and dry-aged duck breast. Fresa’s. The South Austin version of the Mexican restaurant, replete with massive outdoor area, hosts a wood-grilled chicken buffet from 5 to 8 p.m. The buffet will include guacamole, queso, grilled sweet potatoes and more. Hotel ZaZa’s Group Therapy. The restaurant at the newly opened Hotel ZaZa downtown will serve a four-course menu featuring dishes like crab and manchego-stuffed mushrooms, grilled New York strip and a chocolate bombe. Following dinner, the hotel hosts its inaugural New Year’s Eve Soirée in the Gold Standard Ballroom, complete with passed appetizers, a full bar, a DJ and dancing. Kinda Tropical. L’Oca d’Oro. The Italian restaurant in Mueller known for its musically themed menus will throw an ’80s bash and serve a six-course meal with dishes inspired by hip-hop songs of the era, such as Biz Markie’s "Nobody Beats The Biz" and Big Daddy Kane’s "Ain’t No Half Steppin’." Menu will include dishes like sea urchin crudo, orange chicken lollipops with satsuma caramel and dry-aged Wagyu prime rib. Sour Duck Market. The farm-to-table cafe, bakery and bar is throwing a "Back to the Future" party that will include goat barbacoa tacos, "pizzas from the future," mini-burgers and pretzels, along with a cash bar and a bubbly station.
