Are you ready for Halloween? Stocked up on all the candy for trick-or-treaters (and yourself, too)?
Would it surprise you that the Austin area has the biggest increase in candy sales in the month of October compared with other cities? That’s according to the website coupons.com, which looked at candy sales in October throughout the country. Austin’s candy sales in October increased eight times compared with a typical month.
Other cities high on that list were San Diego; San Francisco; Los Angeles; Norfolk, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Seattle; Baltimore; Boise, Idaho; and Charleston, South Carolina.
The National Retail Federation’s annual survey found that this year, nationwide, shoppers expect to spend $86.27 for Halloween candy.
