Homecoming Mum-Making Workshop with the Contemporary Austin. The homecoming mum is an elaborate corsage worn at Texas high schools. To make your own, join artists from the Color Condition, Sunny Sliger and Marianne Newsom, for a free-flowing workshop on the roof deck at the Jones Center. Take part in this long-standing Texas teen ritual and create your own mum with streamers, knickknacks and personalized text. "A Land With No Name." Co-Lab Projects. Artist Sara Madanar's "A Land With No Name" is a series of paintings that takes its inspiration from Persian history — in particular, how complex notions of gender and national identity changed in Iran between the 19th and 20th centuries. A dining destination for date nights, business lunches or special events, Juliet will allow visitors to see the space and meet local vendors that can help transform future events. Head north on U.S. 183 for Cedar Park's offerings, which will be all in one place at this sixth annual tasting event. Try bites from participating restaurants and other food vendors including Andy's Frozen Custard, the League Tavern and Grill, and Moonshine's Bar and Grill. Penfold Theatre's "Ghost Quartet." The happily haunted musical about love, death and whiskey features four friends who drink and spin yarns about two fairy tale sisters, a treehouse astronomer, lazy evil bear, subway tragedy and the ghost of Thelonious Monk. The narrative threads interweave into a centuries-long tale of encounters with the otherworldly.
