First there was sweat. Then there was … the opposite of that.

Austin City Limits Music Festival Weekend Two kicked off Friday, with gates opening at noon. Already, it couldn’t feel more different from the fest’s first weekend: The temperature early in the day was in the upper 40s. It’s one of the coldest editions of the fest ever.

Listen to Austin360 editor Eric Webb and features editor Sharon Chapman reporting live from the scene.

Festival attendees are bundled up in fleece pullovers, down jackets and knit caps. Clementine Creevy of Cherry Glazerr talked to Austin360’s Deborah Sengupta Stith wrapped in a blanket. Thanks to a little light precipitation, the slightest bit of mud has formed on parts of the Zilker Park grounds not covered with grass. It’s expected to stay cloudy all day, with slightly warmer ― relatively ― temperatures expected to come in the afternoon.

Friday’s returning headliners are Guns N’ Roses on the American Express stage and Tame Impala on the Honda stage. Other artists worth checking out: Weekend One highlights like Jenny Lewis and the Raconteurs and Weekend Two-only acts like the Aces and the Band Camino.
