The owners of Chinese restaurant Old Thousand have expansion on the mind. They plan to open a location of their restaurant by the end of the year at 4805 Burnet Road in the space formerly occupied by Noble Sandwich Co. The opening should come about three years after Ben Cachila and his partners opened the first Old Thousand in East Austin. Executive chef Jeff Brown and sous chef Rhys Davis will lead the kitchen at the new location, he original location will also eventually add lunch service back to its offerings.

“We have always seen Old Thousand as a neighborhood Chinese-American restaurant and we’re excited to connect with new communities,” Cachila said. “Part of that connection is ensuring a more casual experience that is comforting, delicious and value-driven. Pinthouse Pizza and Picnik have done a great job creating energy on that block and we hope to contribute to that synergy.”
