"Jesus Christ Superstar." The North American tour of this musical phenomenon launches in Austin, celebrating 50 epic years since the original rock opera concept album release. "Jesus Christ Superstar" is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas. Meet the Maker at Jack Allen's Kitchen. It's the 13th installment of this local restaurant's Meet the Maker series, spotlighting and celebrating local brewer, winemaker and distiller friends. This time around, the series highlights Pepe Z Tequila. You'll be able to chat with founder Pepe Zevada and enjoy samples of tequila blanco, reposado, añejo and extra añejo. Tuesday Twilights at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Enjoy your happy hours with fall flowers starting this week. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has brought back its Tuesday Twilights series, during which it stays open late each week this autumn (save for Oct. 15) to offer live music, activities, signature cocktails from Tito's Handmade Vodka, garden tours and more. Vickie Howell book launch at Aviary Wine + Kitchen. Austin-based DIY expert and author Vickie Howell celebrates the launch of her latest book, "The Knit Vibe: A Knitter's Guide to Creativity, Community, and Well-being for the Mind, Body & Soul." The happy hour includes Aviary drink specials, a book signing and live music from the local band Union Specific. Howell and he Aviary will be donating a percentage of proceeds to HAAM.
