The first weekend of Austin City Limits Festival is just over a week away and weather forecasts indicate we might be nearing the end of this season of endless swelter. You've got your passes. You're figuring out your schedule. The final big question is upon you: What will you wear?

We cruised fashionista magazines and blogs and social media sites in search of this year's hot festival looks. Here are five trends we expect to see at Zilker Park.

Don’t be shy, stand out in the crowd by rocking your boldest, brightest colors. Neon reappeared on the runways this spring and ultra bright yellows, greens and pinks have been popping up at festivals all summer long. Animal prints, especially zebra, are hot this year too.

The cardinal rule of festival footwear? Comfort is key. Yes, those thigh high stiletto boots are adorable, but they’re not going to cut it as you’re sprinting across the field from Kacey Musgraves to Lizzo. Sneakers are always a solid bet and this year chunky platform “ugly sandals” have been stepping out on the scene. Since we’re stuck in the ‘90s til the end of time, we also expect to see platform Doc Martens in the field this year.

This fun and funky update to the fanny pack has been all over festivals this summer and we are here for it. Not only are belt bags convenient and practical, they comply with ACL Fest bag restrictions which require your carry ins fit in a small purse, tote or drawstring bag. Any bag you bring needs to be smaller than 14” x 11” x 5” with just one pocket or opening.

Just when you thought shorts couldn’t possibly get shorter, here come these denim panty hybrids that don’t even front like they’ll cover your booty. Hot girl rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, wore a pair while she destroyed a set at Cheer Up Charlie’s during South by Southwest. When we caught up with her backstage she told us she loves outfits that make her “butt look big.” “If the cheek’s not clapping, the outfit is not happening,” she said.

Take that L.A. tastemakers, we were way ahead of you on this one. Cowgirl cuties with Western boots and wide brimmed hats have sauntered onto the fields at music festivals around the country and we know for a fact they’ll be in the house at ACL Fest (as they are every year).
