In case you didn't wake up this morning, glare at your phone and mumble, "Siri, what is the most Texas thing?" please know that “Supernatural” star and sometimes-Austinite Jared Padalecki might soon star in a reboot of the Chuck Norris vehicle “Walker, Texas Ranger.” (Norris is also an honorary Texan, what with the ranch in Navasota and all.)

Deadline reported first that CBS currently is developing a new version of the show with Padalecki in the title role and as executive producer.

According to Variety, "The series would focus on Walker as he returns from years undercover. A widower and father of two, he begins fighting crime with a new partner, who is one of the only female Rangers in history."

No word yet on what network might carry the show. "Supernatural" is moving into its 15th(!) and final season; more than 300 episodes have aired. The original "Walker, Texas Ranger" aired for eight seasons and 202 episodes.
