Here's what's happening in the Live Music Capital of the World this week.

OUR TOP PICKS

Friday: Tank and the Bangas, the Suffers at Emo’s. This is the double shot of Gulf Coast soul you need to close your summer out correctly. NOLA-based headliners Tank and the Bangas rose to fame with an exuberant blend of hip-hop, jazz and soul after winning NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2017. The band’s new release, “Green Balloon,” dabbles in dreamier vibes than their earlier work without losing the group’s signature theatrical verve. Houston-based outfit the Suffers is a funk-and-soul powerhouse that will make you move, groove and sweat your troubles away. Alfred Banks opens. $25. 8 p.m. doors. 2015 E. Riverside Drive. emosaustin.com — D.S.S.

Saturday: “Live at Raul’s” Reunion at Sam’s Town Point. Released in 1979, “Live at Raul’s” was an important document of the nascent Austin punk scene. To celebrate the album’s 40th anniversary, many of the bands who appeared on the album are reconvening for this show at the far-South Austin hot spot. The Skunks, the Next, the Explosives and Larry Seaman of Standing Waves will perform from 6 to 11:30 p.m., with the tribute band Raul’s Royal Foot closing out the night. $12. 2115 Allred Drive. samstownpointatx.com. — P.B.

Sunday: John Sebastian at One World Theatre. Leader of 1960s folk-rock hitmakers the Lovin' Spoonful, Sebastian played a solo set at Woodstock, and he's touring this summer and fall as the iconic festival marks its 50th anniversary. Expect some reminiscences from that event, as well as Spoonful favorites and some selections from his solo career, as well. (Remember that he topped the charts again a decade after the Spoonful's heyday with his theme to TV sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter.") $25-$98. 8 p.m. 7701 Bee Caves Road. oneworldtheatre.org. — P.B.

Tuesday: HAAM Day. The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians holds its biggest annual fundraiser with music all over town all day long, from clubs and record stores to restaurants and coffee shops to grocery stores and pharmacies to bank lobbies and even Austin City Hall. Rob Mahoney kicks things off at 6 a.m. at the downtown Whole Foods. Highlights include a “Latinapalooza” show at Scoot Inn in memory of Theresa Jenkins with Bidi Bidi Banda, Lesly Reynaga, Tiarra Girls, Leti Garza and Patricia Vonne; Grammy winner Shawn Colvin (5 p.m.) and pop singer Madison McWilliams (1 p.m.) at Waterloo Records; a KUTX show at the Four Seasons with Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis and Sir Woman (featuring Wild Child’s Kelsey Wilson); the High Road on Dawson’s songwriter-focused show with Jon Dee & William Harries Graham, Carson McHone, Michael Fracasso, Bonnie Whitmore and more; local faves Shinyribs playing Cosmic Coffee & Beer Garden; and more than 100 other performances around town. Most shows are free, with donations accepted by volunteers with HAAM-marked boxes. More details at myhamm.org. — P.B.

Thursday: Raveena at Parish. Indian American artist Raveena’s 2017 EP “Shanti” made her a cult sensation in the Desi world. On her latest release, “Lucid,” Raveena’s sultry voice drifts through gorgeous neo-soul soundscapes that simmer with sensuality and spiral into jazzy flourishes. She told British publication NME that the deeply personal album helped her work through the trauma of a sexual assault and find space to heal. Dori Valentine opens. $20. 7 p.m. doors. 214 E. Sixth St. parishaustin.com — D.S.S.
