Texas peaches ripen earlier than almost any others in the country, but that also means they are the first to finish.

As Hill Country peach growers are selling the last of this year's crop, the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Austin is hosting its second peach sale fundraiser of the summer, this time with freestone peaches from Colorado.

You can buy a 20-pound box of peaches for pick up at the Anderson High School parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 14. The peaches cost $45 per box and the proceeds go to support more than a dozen Central Texas charities that the Kiwanis Club donates to every year. The deadline to order peaches is Sept. 4. You can find out more and place an order at NWAustinKiwanis.org/peaches.
