Want to catch a few Austin City Limits Festival artists without committing to the full Zilker Park experience? On Tuesday, festival organizers dropped the list of official ACL Fest aftershows, and while none of the this year's headliners (nor, sadly, Lizzo) are on the list, there are still plenty of fantastic shows on the roster for those who prefer to fest after dark.
The biggest names land at Stubb's outdoor stage, where hometown hero Gary Clark Jr. plays a two-night stand (Oct. 3-4). Blackillac, Clark's collaboration with rappers and old high-school buddies Zeale and Phranchyze, closes the night on Stubb's indoor stage on Oct. 4. Nineties rockers Third Eye Blind celebrate the release of their new album, "Screamer," at the Red River Amphitheater (Oct. 12), and Colombian American R&B/pop sensation Kali Uchis (Oct. 10) and moody Brit James Blake (Oct. 11) each take a night.
This year's pop breakout, King Princess, plays the annual Waller Creek Conservancy show at Stubb's (Oct. 9, on sale now), and Austin's costumed jazz crusaders, Golden Dawn Arkestra, fresh off a European tour, will also play the venue (Oct. 5).

Speaking of art jazz, the British ensemble the Comet is Coming will be at the Scoot Inn (Oct. 4) the night after punk outfit Fidlar shreds the venue in what will surely be the fest's rowdiest kickoff party (Oct. 3). The East Austin venue will also host Jenny Lewis, joined by Cherry Glazerr, and mysterious masked crooner Orville Peck, who shares the bill with Austin's Louisianna Purchase, who has been cast in an upcoming season of the horror drag show "Dragula."
Emo's hosts a slew of electronic dance shows, including sets from Griz (Oct. 6), RL Grime (Oct. 11) and Jai Wolf (Oct. 5), as well as reggae rockers, Rebelution (Oct. 12).
Finally, the best ACL Fest aftershows are sometimes the smaller ones, and our prediction for this year's faster sell-out is South by Southwest standout Pink Sweat$, who will make an Antone's appearance. (Oct. 4)
