A Los Angeles icon is heading to Texas. Fatburger, which got its start almost 70 years ago in South Central Los Angeles and was later memorialized in Ice Cube’s “It Was a Good Day,” will spread throughout Texas via Dallas-based Croft Ventures LLC, with plans to open 25 locations in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. The company that started in Los Angeles in 1952 has since expanded across the globe under the ownership of FAT Brands, which also owns Buffalo’s Cafe, Buffalo’s Express, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Elevation Burger, Yalla Mediterranean and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses.
