In keeping with Austin's status as one of the best movie-nerd cities of its size on the planet, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will screen Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in 35mm at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, Village, Lakeline and Ritz. (The Alamo is screening it in 35 at a total of 19 locations across the country, but you take my meaning.)

Each 35mm screening will feature vintage 35mm trailers from the Drafthouse-affiliated American Genre Film Archive. Look for lots of clips of movies to which QT is paying homage in "Once Upon a Time..."

Given the film’s stunt themes, the Alamo will be programming lots of stunt-related movies in August. Dates and times are not yet set, but look for a retrospective of cool stunts on film called “Don’t Try This At Home” as well as themed screenings of “Max Max: Fury Road,” “The Blues Brothers,” the underrated 2012 movie “Dredd,” “Blade” and more.
