The Zilker Summer Musical is an Austin summer rite of passage.
Every year, thousands of people make the pilgrimage, arriving early to set down their blankets and coolers on the grass next to the Zilker Hillside Theatre, pausing for a refreshing dip in Barton Springs and then settling in at dusk for a Broadway-caliber show.
Perhaps no one is more essential to the show than the costume designer, who sets the visual tone for a performance. Kristin Finan recently sat down with Jennifer Rose Davis, costume designer for this year's musical, "The Little Mermaid," to find out what it took to create the more than 100 pieces in the show, which runs Thursday-Sunday through Aug. 17. Listen to that conversation in this week's episode of "I Love You So Much":
