Tacodeli has long been in the business of satisfying Austinites' breakfast and lunch taco needs, but if your El Conquistador craving hits after 3 p.m., you're generally out of luck.

Starting July 12, you can occasionally get your dinnertime Tacodeli fix the Downtown location of the favorite Austin chain when the restaurant opens after hours (in this case, at 5:30 p.m.) to host a special benefit performance series for local music nonprofit the House of Songs.

Called The House of Songs x Tacodeli Songwriter Sessions, the series will feature solo performances and duos from The House of Songs ATX Player-2-Player (P2P) co-writing program. The program connects Austin songwriters from different backgrounds, who perform different genres and styles, to create new music together.

Each session will feature four artists performing 20-minute solo sets alongside songs that the artists have written in pairs.

The first event, on Friday, will feature Daniel Watters, Tacodeli team member and lead vocalist for The Watters, Kate Priestley of KP and the Boom Boom, Scott Collins and Jenny Reynolds.

In addition to Tacodeli tacos, attendees will be able to purchase beer from Austin Beerworks and a custom cocktail created for the series by Tito's Vodka.

A $5 suggested donation at the door and profits from all taco sales will be donated to the House of Songs. RSVP is required to attend and admission is subject to capacity.

The series continues with events on Aug. 30, Oct.18 and Dec. 6.
