Austin taco journalists/authors/explorers Mando Rayo and Jarod Neece are joining Robert Rodriguez (sort of) for “United Tacos of America,” a reality sho— excuse me, documentary-travel series about tacos across America.
You might recall the two from the blog Taco Journalism, the books “Austin Breakfast Tacos” and “The Tacos of Texas” and the digital documentary series, “Tacos of Texas.”

The show will premiere in the fall on the El Rey Network, which was founded by Rodriguez.
As Rayo told Eater, “We’re exploring how Mexican food is intertwined with regional foods like Houston’s Asian and Mexican cultures coming together to make a great bulgogi taco, while still covering the traditional tacos like carnitas, barbacoa, and birria.”
Look for the taco team to travel throughout the U.S. as well as places such as Los Angeles and Chicago. The first season is eight half-hour episodes.
