Lazarus Brewing already offers plenty of things Austinites cannot resist: beer, of course, as well as coffee and tacos. But this summer, the East Austin brewery will have one not-completely-new addition to the menu thanks to the arrival of an ice cream truck.

Yes, that's right: Lick Honest Ice Creams, which has hosted beer and ice cream pairing events at the brewery in the past, will park its scoops truck, Barb, at Lazarus for a summer residency. You'll be able to order ice cream (or, if you're feeling extra indulgent, one of four ice cream sandwich options) six days a week.

The ice cream flavors that will be available are a mix of both everyday and seasonal options. Some of these might seem unexpected, but the Austin-based Lick has become known for using culinary ingredients sourced directly from local farmers.

Hill Country Honey & Vanilla Bean
Caramel Salt Lick
Blackberry, Lime & Basil (seasonal)
Lemon Lavender (seasonal)
Coconut with Avocado Curd (dairy-free)
Chocolate Chocolate (vegan)

The $5.99 ice cream sandwich flavors are almost entirely different, too:

Caramel Salt Lick
Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil & Sea Salt
Very Blueberry (seasonal)
Vegan Vanilla (vegan, gluten free)

On the beer side, Lazarus also has some summer treats for us to try. Up next is the Numbers Tepache Wild Ale, available in bottles, that was aged in tequila barrels and made with pineapple juice, ginger, piloncillo cane sugar, black pepper and long peppers. Only a limited number of bottles are available; you can order one now and pick it up on the June 29 release date.

Lazarus is located at 1902 E. Sixth St. Barb will be open at Lazarus 12 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Wednesday and 12 to 10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. For more information, visit lazarusbrewing.com.
