Local music patron organization Black Fret is teaming with the Long Center for a new series of free shows on three Friday evenings from June to September.
Black Fret Summer Sessions will feature recipients of grants from Black Fret, which sells memberships and presents dozens of shows throughout the year. Most of them are members-only events, but this new series is free and open to the public. Music begins at 6 p.m. on June 7, July 19 and Sept. 6, with four sets from Black Fret acts each night.
The concerts will be held on the Long Center's terrace and lawn along Riverside Drive. The Long Center also will feature its popular "Sound & Cinema" movies and music series on several summer Wednesdays; films and bands have not yet been announced.
