It’s been a long journey for Veronica Mars. And it’s not over yet.

She started life as a YA novel pitch from then-Austinite Rob Thomas set at Westlake High before becoming the cult CW TV series about the teen detective we know and love. The show, which lasted three seasons, was revived as a crowd-funded movie released in 2014.

Now, “Veronica Mars” is back as a limited series on Hulu, the trailer for which is out now.

Set five years after the film’s events, this iteration takes place in good ol’ Neptune, which Veronica is still detecting stuff.

Listen to our 'Game of Thrones' podcast:

Here’s the official synopsis: “Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”

New episodes start July 26.
