Mum Foods may be known for the excellent pastrami they serve at farmers markets, but they also know what time it is: Crawfish season. The owners of the newly opened Mum Foods Deli, located in the former Elaine’s Pork & Pies building on the Eastside Cafe lot, will celebrate its grand opening Friday night with a crawfish boil.

Tickets ($15 online and $20 at the door) get guests access to crawdads, snacks, beer from Brazos Valley Brewing Co. and water from Big Swig. The party runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with the mud bugs served around 6 p.m. Head to this link for more information and tickets. Mum Foods Deli is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 to 3:30 p.m. 

Suerte owner Sam Hellman-Mass purchased Eastside Cafe (and its land) earlier this year, and while he not announced future plans for the space, he has leaded the former Pork & Pies space to the folks at Mum Foods.
