On Tuesday, Float Fest organizers announced plans to move to a private ranch in Gonzales for this year's event, which takes place July 20-21. The new location, they said will be larger than their old site in San Marcos, which is likely a good thing. The lineup for this year's event is stacked with a diverse roster of popular artists representing rap, EDM and indie rock.
Major Lazer, Portugal the Man, Gucci Mane, Kaskade, Zeds Dead, Ice Cube, Big Gigantic, and the Flaming Lips take top billing for the two-day, two-stage event that combines music, camping and tubing. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Grouplove, Big Boi, Jungle, St. Lucia, Houndmouth, G Love & Special Sauce, Missio, The Floozies, Goldfish, Sego, and Cowboy Diplomacy round out the roster.

At the old location, fest-goers rode a shuttle to the tubing start point, but river access will be on site at the new location. This year, the festival is offering early camping load in on Friday night, an expanded general store and a separately ticketed Shade and Arcade Lounge with access to air conditioning and over 30 arcade games.
Tickets to Float Fest are on sale now at floatfest.net.
For the past couple years, Float Fest organizers have been trying to expand the event. This year's move to Gonzales comes after Guadalupe County officials denied them a permit for the old site.
