SXSW free shows at Auditorium Shores. Downtown clubs remain jammed through the weekend with official South by Southwest showcases that mostly require badges or wristbands. But that’s why the festival long ago adopted Auditorium Shores as a wide-open space where all locals can go hear some free music during the festival. Still Austin Whiskey Rocks. There's no need to head downtown for music during SXSW this weekend. South Austin's urban whiskey distillery, Still Austin Whiskey Co., hosts live music shows throughout the day, as well as a craft marketplace and a Balanced Breakfast community gathering — with all proceeds benefiting Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). "House Party 4." Mondo Gallery announces the return of its all-originals gallery show during SXSW: House Party 4. The two-day exhibit that debuted Friday will feature more than 100 pieces of one-of-a-kind, original artwork at a fixed $200 price point from an incredible lineup of artists. Crispy Boi IPA Can Release at Pinthouse Pizza. The IPA-loving brewpub keeps the cans coming. Crispy Boi IPA is Pinthouse's first collaboration beer of the year, after teaming up with Minneapolis' Fair State Brewing Cooperative. Their head brewer, Niko Tonks (formerly of Live Oak Brewing), teamed up with Pinthouse's director of brewing, Joe Mohrfeld as a tribute to hop-growing region Yakima, with some of the freshest Amarillo, Galaxy, Chinook, Citra, and Mosaic hops they could find. 9 a.m. Saturday. Dinosaur Day. Go prehistoric with the Zilker Botanical Garden at this event rescheduled from February. The family-friendly afternoon will feature a dinosaur parade at 1 p.m., so come dressed in your favorite dino costume or bring a friendly dinosaur stuffed animal. There will also be a prehistoric scavenger hunt and other fun dinosaur-related activities, such as creating your own prehistoric planter.
