If you've never been to a cake show, prepare to be amazed.

This weekend is the 15th annual That Takes the Cake, a sugar arts show and cake competition that draws the best pastry chefs and confectionery artists in the country. The show, which is hosted by the local cake club Capital Confectioners, takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Round Rock Sports Complex, 2400 Chisholm Trail Road, will bring together hobby bakers, professional cake artists, vendors and anyone who appreciates an edible Willie Nelson sculpture.

This year's theme is "Wild, Wild West," so attendees will surely see dozens of horses, cowboys, cacti and other Western-themed cakes, cookies and other sugary creations. In addition to the awe-inspiring competition cakes, the show also includes hands-on classes and demonstrations, as well as on-site contests. Tickets to the show cost $15 at the door, and you can find a full schedule of events at thattakesthecake.org.
