Spring Break is still weeks away, but it marks a return to warmer weather and eventually pool season. St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, Williamson County EMS and Emler Swim School is offering parents a free swim safety class on March 3.
The class will teach parents what to look for in and around the water to keep your child safe as well as teach adult, infant and child CPR.

Follow these tips as well as read our Swim Safety story:
Supervise your children. For young children, that means getting in the water and having hands-on contact or being within arm’s length. For older children, that means watching them in the water at all times.
Assign one person in your group to be the water guardian, the person watching the water at all times.
Don't swim in a place without a life guard.
Have your child take swim lessons.
Always have a phone nearby.
Take a water safety class.
Take frequent breaks. Tired kids make mistakes.
Rehydrate and refuel throughout the day.
Use life jackets in rivers, lakes, springs and oceans.
