Eat pie. Watch Austin chefs (and others) stuff their faces with pie. Possibly win wristbands to the Austin City Limits Festival. And raise money for SAFE Alliance. All at the same time? Sounds like a combination for a winning Tuesday night.
Callie Speer’s irreverent rock-and-roll diner, Holy Roller, is hosting a pie-eating contest tonight that will cover all the aforementioned high points. Returning champion Casey Wilcox (formerly of Central Standard) will put his crown on the table against a roster of competitors that includes chef Michael Fojtasek of Olamaie, Stiles Switch partners Catherine Stiles, Rambler sparkiling water co-founder Dave Mead and more tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.
Viewers can purchase raffle tickets betting on their favorite to win the contest. The ticket holders for the winning competitor will then be entered into a raffle for a slew of prizes that includes a pair of wristbands to next year’s ACL Festival. All proceeds raised from the night will benefit the SAFE Alliance, which supports women and children victimized by domestic violence and sex trafficking.
