Selena is coming to Netflix.
Hollywood Reporter is reporting that a scripted series about the late Tejano music superstar is in the works from the streaming-content colossus.
According to the Reporter, there is a “straight-to-series order for 'Selena: The Series,' which it describes as a coming-of-age story.”
No premiere date or episode count has been determined, nor that it would be an hour or half-hour series.
Moisés Zamora is set to script and executive produce the series with the Quintanilla family.
With more than 65 million albums sold Selena remains the best-selling female artist in the history of Latin music. She was shot and killed in 1995 by her friend and fan-club manager Yolanda Saldivar, who had been embezzling money from the superstar.
