One of Austin’s longest-running all day neighborhood restaurants has set up shop in a new neighborhood. Kerbey Lane Cafe opened its eighth location this morning at 2200 Aldrich St. in the Mueller development. The restaurant that features all of the speciality breakfast and all-day dishes found at the other locations is open Sunday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to midnight and until 1 a.m. on Saturday. The menu is helmed by relatively new Kerbey Lane chef Joe Anguiano, formerly of Vox Table.
The restaurant, designed by Richard Weiss of Weiss Architecture, with interior design by Kris Swift of Future Design Now (Jacoby’s Mercantile, Grizzelda’s), offers 230 seats inside and another 30 outside on the patio. The location from the company that was founded in 1980 joins about 40 other restaurants in the neighborhood, including J.T. Youngblood’s, PhoNatic, L’Oca d’Oro and more.
“When Mueller residents voiced their desire for a Kerbey Lane Cafe by staging an ‘eat-in’ at our original location a few years ago, it reaffirmed our belief we’d be a great fit for this neighborhood,” Kerbey Lane Cafe chief executive officer Mason Ayer said.
