Update: This post has been updated to clarify the culinary offerings at the new Sway.
West Lake has never been known as much of a culinary destination, but it will add to its bona fides next week when modern Thai restaurant Sway opens December 5 at 3437 Bee Caves Road.
The sleek restaurant from the New Waterloo hospitality group will initially serve a dinner menu packed with the well-known favorites from the other two Sway locations, including tom kha gai, son-in-law, tiger cry and salt-and-pepper shrimp and offer late-night hours at a covered rooftop bar. Dinner service will run Sunday-Wednesday from 4 to 10 p.m .and until 11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. Lunch and brunch hours will be added early next year. The kitchen will be helmed by chef de cuisine Billy Sciacca.
As with the other two locations, the handsome West Lake member of the family will feature large square tables for communal seating and an open kitchen in a space designed by architect Michael Hsu.
The original Sway on South First Street opened in 2012 and the group expanded its sweet, salty and spicy reach by adding a location at Domain Northside earlier this year.
